The following bird species have been recorded along the A130 Highway (A127-A12) in Essex.Elm maintains a 9 mile section of the road carrying out verge and plant maintenance operations.
Winter Sightings
Little Grebe (2 pairs on Balancing Ponds)
Grey Heron
Little Egret (upto 5 on Balancing Ponds)
Mallard (2 pairs)
Common Buzzard (increased to 2 pairs)
Kestrel (over 10 pairs)
Sparrowhawk
Lapwings (100+ on farm fields)
Kingfisher
Green Woodpecker
Fieldfare (multiple sightings)
Redwing (odd sightings)
Long Tailed Tit
Goldfinch
Linnet
